HIPAA-aware IT for a small clinic in Johnson County

You do not need a vCISO theater. You need private Wi-Fi, MFA, backups, and a network patients’ phones cannot wander into.

What “HIPAA-aware” means here

It does not mean a 40-page binder from a national firm. It means the EHR PC is not on guest Wi-Fi, Microsoft 365 has MFA, backups restore, and the front desk is not sharing one login on a sticky note.

Paint Creek will say when a job is bigger than that. We will not fake a compliance practice we do not run.

The first 30 days in a clinic

Inventory the machines. Separate guest Wi-Fi. Turn on MFA. Prove a backup. Write down who owns the tenant. Then a monthly plan so the next Windows update is ours.

Same pattern for dental, therapy, and small medical offices in Paintsville and Prestonsburg. If you are still faxing because “the computer is down,” that is the call.

Paint Creek Technologies is based in Paintsville and serves Eastern Kentucky on-site. Request an estimate.

Questions we get

Are you a HIPAA consultant?
No. We lock down the stack a clinic actually uses and tell you when a specialist should join.
Is the waiting-room Wi-Fi a problem?
If it is the same network as the front desk, yes. Guest Wi-Fi is the fix, not a lecture.
